To begin you will need some strong string as the spare Lati hands don’t come pre-strung. You can use a mini crochet hook to pull the string through the loop on the hand. The loop of string should be 1/4 of an inch from the wrist to the knot.
Pull out the elastic fastened to the hand you wish to replace.
Spreading the elastic between your fingers, clamp it with the forceps closest to the forearm. Make sure you have plenty of spare elastic hanging out. If you must use two hands and have a friend clamp it for you!
Insert the crochet hook between the elastic and the small string connected to the hand.
With another crochet hook, work loose the loop of the string around the elastic.
While pulling out the elastic loop, pull the thin loop of string connected to the hand from the end of the elastic loop, towards the forearm.
Spreading the elastic as far as possible with the crochet hook, thread the whole hand through the loop of elastic. Be careful of the fingers!
Now you can slide the loop of string connecting the hand off the elastic.
Now you are ready to attach the new hand!
Thread the elastic through the smaller string on the hand down to the forceps.
Thread the whole hand through the loop of elastic.
You can pull the elastic apart and over the hand with the crochet hook if that will help.
Pull the hand to tighten the knot. Remove the forceps. Lati hand change complete!
